Betty C. Hungerford
Board Member Emeritus
Betty C. Hungerford has over 45 years of experience in development and public relations. From December 2000 until she retired in 2023, she served as the Director of Development at Homeland Center in Harrisburg, securing financial and community resources for its senior healthcare services. A Lebanon Valley College alumna, she is a past president of its Alumni Association, chairs the Award Committee, and is a member of the Vickroy Society. She has received numerous honors, including the Alumni Citation, Distinguished Alumna award, and an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from her alma mater.
Hungerford's professional memberships include the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Estate Planning Council of Central PA, where she served as past president. She is also a past president of the Pennsylvania Public Relations Society (PPRS) and has received the Ernest R. McDowell Award, Fundraising Professional of the Year by AFP, and the Frederick E. Leuschner Award for Excellence in Public Relations.
Her community involvement includes the Rotary Club of Harrisburg (past president), Theatre Harrisburg (Board Development Chair), Pinnacle Health Auxiliary, and the Harrisburg Symphony Society. Betty has been recognized with Rotary’s Robert D. Hanson Rotary Excellence Award and other prestigious accolades for her leadership and contributions to the community.
